  1. Increased Health Risk: cheaper alternatives to sanitary pads, such as rags or mug, are not only unhygienic but put women and girls at risk to experience pelvic infections
  2. Missing Education or Income: women and girls miss up to 50 days a year of school or work because they have no sanitary pads when they menstruate. That has a negative effect on their education or income

She28 helps women in developing countries to own their own business and produce affordable sanitary pads. The women-owned businesses create workplaces and affordable sanitary pads, which increases the health, education, income and quality of life of many women.
