Open Eyes for Domestic Violence
The video explains the making-of process for Blind Eye, a video produced by a U.K. women’s aid charity. 3D stereoscopic technology allows viewers to see simultaneously two different films and to switch between the two films through closing the left or right eye. Viewers having their left eye open see a mother preparing dinner who seems to be in a good and happy mood. Viewers having their right eye open see the same woman doing the same activities but being abused by her husband.
The film emotionally struck me. It takes open eyes and moral courage to recognize domestic violence and to provide support to victims. The new technology visualizes that signs of abuse often can be seen if you decide not to ignore them.
